Mark and I went to see MATT AND KIM at Parkland College. It was a free show, lots of energy, and I enjoyed seeing the barcadi commercial song performed live, but I was totally crabby after a long weekend. Mark's review can be read here.

Live Music

NEW! video capabilities for the 5D mark II

Canon just released a firmware update for the 5D mark II that allows for full manual control when shooting HD video. This is a great advancement. I recently assisted on a shoot where we had to trick the camera in to using a low aperture for every shot. It was time consuming and really messed with the rhythm of the shoot.

Now it is as easy as rolling a dial. It is interesting how much image quality is affected by the shutter speed.The amount of blur in the image based on movement, as one would expect, is directly dependent on the shutter in the video mode.

Lens baby

It was a mystery why someone would spend $300 to make their expensive digital SLR look like crap, until I started using one... Lens babies are really fun, and I have really enjoyed a lot of the results.
